It depends on the individual.  We are all distinctly unique; each one of us has a different level of tolerance to pain.  What might feel unbearable to you may be little more than a discomfort to the next person.

As someone who has first-hand experience, having had my brows and lips tattooed, I can honestly say the sensation was not dissimilar to a persistent itch.  I had the uncontrollable urge to scratch the treated area while the procedure was being performed, aside from that the stinging subsided as soon as the treatment ended.

Anaesthetics are used to minimise discomfort of the treatment area. Some clients may experience slight discomfort and a stinging sensation, more so on sensitive areas such as Scalp, Areola & Lips.

You may purchase an over the counter topical anaesthetic and apply up to an hour before Your appointment.

Some of the brands are LMX, EMLA, AMETOP, Lidocaine (Tesco unbranded pharmacy product) You are likely to be asked why You require it, I normally say I’m having an injection. This will give You a head start on Pain control but I will be using My own topical anaesthetics.
